Enjoy a stroll through this lovely 18th century landscaped park and look out for the Red, Fallow and Sika deer that have made their home here. In the 1700s John Aislabie, disgraced by financial scandals, channelled his energy into new pursuits and designed this breathtaking landscape, planting avenues of oak, lime and sweet chestnut trees for our enjoyment.
You may extend your walk to the lakeside, populated with all kinds of wildfowl and on into the valley of the 7 bridges, a scenic walk crossing the River Skell by the aforementioned bridges and through the gorge which eventually takes you into the picturesque village of Studley Roger.
The deer park is open during daylight hours and offers free admission.
Watch but do not get too close to the stags in the rutting season.
